The place will be amazing when contruction is finished - great vibe, retro furniture and already a really well run hostel. Just a shame I didn't get to see it finished.
The fact it was clearly still under construction. If I had of know I would have stayed elsewhere.

Independente was full of character and liveliness. The room I had was spacious, clean and had a great view overlooking the city. Breakfast was also satisfying and it was served in the rustic restaurant part. I was so happy with my staying there and already I strongly recommended this hostel to my friend.

In front of a Miradouro that gives you splendid views of the city, this is a nice place, near to the centre. Big rooms with original bunk beds, wide showers and breakfast included. They also offer a free city tour. Very good relation quality/price.
As it's situated in front of a very nice Miradouro and square and in the Bairro Alto neighbourhood, the hostel becomes a noisy place at night, so you should take your earplugs. Also the the door of the toilet maybe does not give you all the desired privacy.

We had an amazing time at this hostel! The hostel rooms were not only cheap but also beautifully decorated. The panoramic view of the city from the window was breathtaking. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. The bar and restaurant on-site were convenient and added to the overall experience. Plus, the location was perfect, with easy access to bars, restaurants, and metro stations. The hostel's cool lounge area was a great place to hang out with friends and even cook meals. we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Lisboa.

The facilities offered were top-notch, including a well-equipped kitchen, ample bathrooms and showers, and a cozy lounge area. We also appreciated the convenient location, right across from a beautiful park and close to public transportation, such as the Red Line for easy airport access. The staff were incredibly helpful, providing valuable information about the city and offering a courtesy meal for guests.
